The focus of these courses is to provide a gentle introduction to computers and the software they use safely and securely, while building new skills and confidence. These courses are available to anyone over the age of 16 years looking to improve their skills.

This introductory computer course is for first-time users, and those wishing to gain more confidence and understanding in basic computer use. It includes an introduction to the computer, from mouse and keyboard skills to searching the internet safely, and simply explains the terminology, while providing useful hints and tips to help understand how to access websites of interest.

This course is an introduction to Word to create basic documents (such as a letter or CV), and use email to send and receive messages and files, gaining skills that can be used in a personal or professional environment. Users should already have a basic understanding of computer use, or have attended the Getting Started (IT for Complete Beginners). 

This course provides a basic understanding of how to use Outlook browser and Outlook functions, essential skills for the workplace. Managing email communications, calendar appointments and recording contact information whilst maintaining e-safety. 

Using word to create formal well-structured documents with illustrations, using spellcheck and grammar suggestions. Highlighting text, changing it, and then moving it into a document. Naming, saving, and attaching documents for further use. 

An introduction to PowerPoint - using slides and how to build them into a presentation. Advise on Internet safety and security.

Learn to successfully search the internet, navigate a website to find specified information, e-safety, and set-up an email account, send / receive emails (spell-check) and send emails with attachments.
